Meet Dr. Elena, Endodontist

Welcome to Northshore Endodontics

Northshore Endodontics has been serving patients since 1994, first by Dr. Jeff Samyn and now by Dr. Elena Andronova. During that time, we have earned the trust of our referring dentists and their patients. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care possible in a friendly and comfortable environment. We will make every effort to ensure that our time spent with our patients will result in a positive experience. In our office, the patient always comes first.

Our Commitment to Excellence

At Northshore Endodontics, we are committed to using the latest state-of-the-art technology available in diagnosis and treatment, allowing for the best possible care of our patients. We take pride in the fact that Dr. Elena uses a surgical microscope for all root canal and surgical procedures which allows optimum visualization of delicate root canal anatomy. In addition, we utilize a low radiation digital x-ray system and digital microscopic imaging that allows us to incorporate digital radiographic and photographic imaging into our patient records and referring dentist reports.

Our Commitment to Comprehensive Dental Treatment

We are committed to treating your dental needs comprehensively and to working with your general dentist as a part of a treatment team dedicated to establishing optimum oral health for you. It is our goal to partner with your dentist as a true extension of their office. Our “digital” office allows us to conveniently communicate any reports, x-rays, or photos to your general dentist quickly through the use of electronic transfer. Upon completion of treatment, each referring dentist will receive a full treatment report, which will be available for their subsequent treatment planning for you.

Through specialized endodontic treatment we are able to save many teeth that may otherwise have been lost. We hope the information provided here answers many of your questions about what we do. If you would like additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact us .

Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to serving you!

“The best and most affordable dentistry is when the right thing is done extremely well the first time and it lasts.”

First Visit

Your appointment will consist of a thorough evaluation followed by a discussion with Dr. Elena explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. If endodontic therapy is needed, it can often be completed on the same day as the consultation. However, a complex case may require an evaluation first with a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your appointment:

  • Your referral slip
  • A list of medications you are presently taking
  • If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance card to allow us to help you process your claim.
  • To save time, complete the Patient Registration information that was sent to you. If you did not receive a link, please contact our office.

IMPORTANT:
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to your appointment (i.e. artificial heart valves and joints or rheumatic fever which may require antibiotic premedication, latex or drug allergy, anxiety disorder, etc.)

To aid in proper diagnosis, please avoid taking any type of pain medication at least 4 hours prior to your appointment.

All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the first visit.

X-Rays

If your dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they send them to our office.  Additional x-rays are usually required and will be taken using our digital imaging system which requires 90% less radiation than standard x-ray films.

3D Cone beam scan

We will be taking a 3D scan to help in the diagnosis of your tooth. Many times, even if you have had a recent scan at your dentist, we will still need to take our own. Our equipment is different than other office’s scan equipment because it focuses just on a specific area of your mouth and not the entire mouth and therefore shows much in more detail the areas of concern. A specific area may require more detailed imaging to assess a particular concern such as a suspected lesion, fracture, or anomaly that may not have been visible or fully clear in the comprehensive scan. In essence, while a full-mouth scan provides an overall view of dental health, a focused 3D scan on a particular area ensures detailed examination and precise information necessary for specific treatments or assessments.

Scheduling

Northshore Endodontics is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday from 8:00am-noon. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you on the same day.

Please feel free to contact us to set up your appointment. Often times we will call you after we receive a referral from your dentist. Our staff will review your specific dental needs and set up the appropriate appointment time. Any questions regarding financial options and insurance plans can be also be addressed at that time. During your examination, Dr. Elena will thoroughly explain all treatment options as well as answer any questions you might have. If endodontic therapy is needed, Dr. Elena will usually complete most procedures in one appointment.

We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. However, due to the fact that our practice provides highly specialized and meticulous endodontic services, various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Patient Comfort and Protection

Patient Comfort

We are committed to making your dental visit a comfortable and pleasant experience. From DVD movies to blankets, we offer special features to help you relax and make you feel at ease.

Refreshment Bar—Brew your own fresh cup of gourmet tea with our Keurig single cup brewing machine. Choose from our complimentary selection of teas upon your arrival!

Movie Glasses—Complimentary DVD movies can be viewed through virtual reality glasses during your appointment. This entertaining experience provides a unique escape from your dental surroundings.

Sedation Dentistry—Nitrous oxide “laughing gas” or oral medication is available for anxious patients.

Anesthesia
“I have a hard time getting numb”—Does this phrase fit you? We hear it often and take steps to prevent it. Dr. Elena uses a special technique to ensure deep numbing of your teeth. Before starting treatment, she will make sure your tooth is completely “sleeping” to eliminate any unwanted surprises during your treatment. We believe your visit with us should be a pain-free and relaxed experience.

Sedation Dentistry
Patients with anxiety may prefer the use of medication to help them relax further during their dental care. The two most common types of sedation are oral conscious sedation and inhalation sedation.

Inhalation Sedation
This sedation uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) during your appointment to reduce anxiety and help you become more relaxed and comfortable. Following treatment, this medication is fully gone from your body so there is no need for you to have separate driver.

Oral Conscious Sedation
With oral sedation you will be prescribed a medication that is easy to swallow, safe and is inexpensive. This option will provide for a deep relaxation during your visit while still being conscious. This sedation option requires that you have someone drive you to and from your dental appointment. Patient comfort is top priority in our office so don’t hesitate to ask for anything to help make your appointment more comfortable.

Additional Features for Your Comfort
  • Gourmet tea and complimentary Wi-Fi access
  • Assorted neck, back, and knee pillows – Provide custom support and relaxation
